Giant Killer was tied by Salmonfly.Net Contributing Fly Tyer William Lovelace.
Bill's Notes: "This pattern came from my first fly pattern book
a claw bound 1970 typed mimeographed copy of Roy Patrick’s
Pacific Northwest Fly Patterns." Read more about William Lovelace and see more of his flies at The Flies of William Lovelace.
Webmaster notes: Bill mentioned that he was inspired to tie this and the
Green Dean for the page when he saw the issue
featuring Mike Foster's Green Series of flies. This fly is displayed in Dick Stewart and Farrow Allen,
Flies for Steelhead as well as the Roy Patrick book. Stewart and
Allen write that this fly was fished
successfully on the Kispiox River and Skeena River System in British Columbia.
They also note that fly should be dressed sparsely, as Bill has done here.
