______The crashing noise of the waterfall that concealed the entrance to the cave was strangely
absent from the deeper reaches of it, only the dripping of water from the above river was heard this far
back. The stone walls that grew strange glowing crystals like they were some form of plant seemed to
absorb sound, or perhaps the crystals did. *It's of no matter. I never did completely understand the
nature of them. He only taught me how to make use of them; I doubt he understands them either.*
The small dark-shrouded figure looked up as a tiny rock fell from it's place. A circle of dull light was
thrown upon the desk where the figure sat, revealing only pale hands holding a quill dipped in writing
ink and the pale brown paper below it.
______"Hello?" the figure queried. *No one should be out at this time of night, certainly not around
here. I was sure the forest creatures stayed near the towns around this time of night.*
______Looking back at the paper, the human added a few more touches to the sketchy blue prints. She
reached out drawing the dimming candle closer to her. Her skin was a pale tone from lack of sunlight, and
was in contrast to the dirty-blonde hair. Her pale blue eyes reflected the light back making them seem
silver and pupilless for a moment. She rubbed her eyes with her hands and picked the paper up with one
hand, examining some detail more closely before laying it down and correcting something with the still
ink-dampened quill. She laid the quill down on the writing desk and considered throwing the design
away. She could make it, but it wouldn't work, not without help anyway. She shook her head at the idea.
______"Besides," she muttered. "Where would I find the materials?"
______People could be resourceful around here, and she would like to see a working model. Skye tried
to brush away the thoughts. She didn't want to owe anyone around here anything for their help. Besides,
she never did like working with others. That was why she had moved out to a cave in the middle of some
obscure forest in the first place. She sighed looking at the design again. "To see it work though," her mind
prodded her.
______"Fine," she muttered. "I'll try it."
______Skye stood up looking down at the sketched plans again. It resembled a canoe with hawk-wings
and a tail. The central fuselage was tapered at either end with a central hole for a cockpit. Long swept-back
wings were on either side, and a wedge-shaped tail was on the end. The whole thing was to be made
of reinforced paper. Two hawk eyes stared out from the front. Skye sighed, "It will probably need a lot of
work." It was to be imbued with air magic and the design would allow the rider to control it by certain
whistles. She picked up the quill one last time and wrote "PaperWing" across the top. She folded the paper
and stuck it in the front pocket of her pants.
______"I've got to be nuts," she muttered stuffing a couple of bags of powders in her pack on top of her
cape. Next, she placed a lightweight set of tools, carefully wrapped in a linen on top of that. She placed an
extra linen on top of that, then a rope. She carefully attached her vajra in its holding place on the side of
the pack. She set her small money pouch in next, nearly laughing to herself at the slight contents of it. She
stood thoughtfully for a moment before grabbing a box containing several silns.
______"I should be able to get by on that," she said looking around catiously before closing her pack.
She pulled her chain mail tunic over the off-white blouse, then her cloth tunic over that, and attached her
sword belt around her waist. She pulled on the pack, and leaned forward slightly, blowing out the candle.
She then walked out of the cave and into the forest headed for the nearest tavern in the area.
______At the tavern she stuck a paper outside the door holding it there with a black-iron siln. It read:

OOC- I've got an idea for a man-made flying device. My character came up
with it, whoo hoo; she makes stuff, that's how she makes money. If you've ever met this one IC, she's by
no way rich. What she needs is provded in her surroundings most of the time and the other stuff, she buys
or rps out getting a hold of it. Anyways, she does not have the magic ability to make this thing work.
Therefore i'm looking for the help of a mage. You need to be able to put air magic into a device of wood
and paper and my char can handle strengthening the paper[if you want to though, please feel free to do
the paper part too]. There will probably only be one in existance, assuming I get it made. The character
name is Skye_Dercesthai . Now before I go through with it, someone go ahead and yell how cheap it is [if
it is] so i won't bother making it. You don't yell here and it's made; I don't want to hear how cheap it is in
the chatrooms, I gave you a chance.
Heh,
Until Day Is Night and Night Is Day,
and
The Sky Screams Out With The Terror
Of Yet Another Tourtured Soul,
