The deadline has past for signing new players eligible for the Champions League, incredibally Jo Venglos and Celtic have failed to sign a single player rubbishing earlier claims that as much as £14.5 million would be made available to Dr Jo for transfers. Hysteria was rife in the days leading up to the deadline with claims that Hernan Crespo, Alain Boksic, Luis Oliveira and Kevin Gallagher all being linked with moves to Celtic, unsurprisingly none of them materialised. Celtic will face Airdrie with a dpleted squad through injury and international commitments. Players missing will inlude; Larsson, Reiper, Stubbs, Brattbakk, Mahe & Weighorst.
