Derby County have made a £1.3 million bid for out of favour Celtic Striker Harald Brattbakk. Celtic however turned down the offer, it is believed they are holding out for around half a million more. Derby have also ironically been linked with Rangers striker Jonotan Johansson, it would appear unlikely that the Ibrox side would wish to lose a player that has shown considerable potential. The Viduka affair continues, a lot of wild rumours have been floating around most of which with little or no foundation. I prefer to listen to what the player has to say; "things have changed during the past twelve months, and particularly in the last four months, starting with the two games against Celtic in the European Champions League, in which I was considered to be one of the best players by the Scottish reporters, and Celtic management. Yet the Croatian media rated me as Croatia Zagreb's worst player. What I then experienced was a deliberate Croatian media campaign against me consisting of almost daily inaccurate and fictitious reports about everything that I supposedly did or said. It's hard to explain to Australians and Scots what it's like being in a country that's just emerged from a period of war, but my every move was analysed with negative and untrue conclusions drawn. There was no balance of view. Worse still, the majority of the fans listened. Unfortunately, they believed what was written and said. Even when I was playing at my best I faced a hostile home crowd - the majority of the 40,000 Croatia Zagreb fans booing, whistling, and verbally abusing me even after I scored a goal for our team."
