West Ham are apparantly interested in signing in-form Celt Phil O'Donnell. O'Donnell signed from Motherwell in 1994 has been plagued by injuries since his arrival at Parkhead but has recently shown a run of consistant form. It is somewhat ironic that we should be in danger of a player who is only just beginning achieve the potential which prompted his signing. Like Simon Donnelly, O'Donnell has been in dispute with Celtic in relation to his new contract and unless agreeable terms are offered he would be able to leave on a Bosman at the end of this season. West Ham may however be prepared to part with a nominal fee to boost their team in their challenge for a UEFA cup spot. It would be very dissapointing to lose a player of O'Donnells quality, and it would be hard to comprehend the business sense behind any decision to release the player considering how much it would cost to replace him.
