In a time long ago
A little girl was all alone
She feared the dark
Her heart turned to stone
She trusted no one
No one cared to see
The love she wanted, so desperately
As years went by her fears only grew
Unhappiness followed and no one knew
Her tears were hidden
A smile she always wore
Her confidence was gone
She had no future she swore
Pain was her constant companion
She knew it so well
Heartache and longing in her own personal Hell
She kept to herself
Out of fear she told no one at all
The beatings and the rapes
They all took their toll
She kept so many secrets that she turned into a doll
A doll has no feelings they wear the same face
They give everyone pleasure they take nothing to replace
As she grew into a mother all the love she thought lost
Went to her children, and that was a lot
As children do they went on their own
Leaving a mother with memories
And a longing for a love of her own
She searched and she found a love she thought true
But alas it was wrong and once again she is blue
Life has many turns and turn them we must
I took the right turn and found you
I am finally blessed
