Pressure filtration takes place in the Bowman's capsule at the beginning of the nephron. The blood comes to the nephron via the capillaries from the renal artery. These capillaries form the glomerulus within the Bowman's capsule. There, the blood pressure is exceedingly high (60 mmHg). Due to this, small molecules move into the Bowman's Capsule. At this point, the components of the blood are: formed elements (blood cells, platelets),and proteins. The components that move into the Bowman's Capsule are:water, nitrogenous wastes (urea, uric acid, creatinine),nutrients(glucose, amino acids),and ionized salts. The efferent arteriole takes the blood away from the nephron while peritubular capillaries encircle the entire nephron. The components which go into the Bowman's Capsule are called glomerular filtrate.
