FIRST AIR CALVARY

MY COUNTRY GAVE ME THE HONOR,
OF BEING A WOUNDED VET,
I SERVED MY TIME IN VIETNAM,
DURING THE OFFENSIVE KNOWN AS TET.

WE WERE A DIVISION OF SOLDIERS,
WHOSE GALLANTRY HAS NO MATCH,
OUR INSIGNIA IN BLACK AND YELLOW,
HAS A HORSE HEAD ON ITS PATCH.

I WAS WITH THE UNIT,
THAT WAS KNOWN FOR ITS BRAVERY,
WE WERE PROUD TO BE THE MEMBERS,
OF THE FIRST AIR CALVARY.

THERE WERE NO WORDS NEEDED,
IT WAS SIMPLY UNDERSTOOD,
THE SOLDIERS THAT SERVED TOGETHER,
HAVE FORMED A BROTHERHOOD.

WE WOULD GIVE OUR LIFE FOR ONE ANOTHER,
WHEN IT CAME DOWN TO THE WIRE,
AS THE FIRST CAV. SERVED WITH HONOR,
AND COURAGE UNDER FIRE.
