Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon
into
blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD
come.
Some have used this verse to show that the sun and the moon darken/turn to blood "before" Christ returns, implying these are solely events dealing with satans appearance.
This is the Strongs for before

This word does not mean before as in time, that something is
done
previous or "before" something else. This means to come before
a judge
which would be at that very time, right in front, or to face
a judge.
Here is the same word being used, and its clear it is not
before as in
previous.
Ezekiel 43:24 And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and
the priests
shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt
offering unto the LORD.
That means to offer them to the lord, or to his face,
which means to
come to him directly and offer. Same word and meaning in Joel.
Here is the true use of before as we commonly define it.
Haggai 2:15 And now, I pray you, consider from this day and upward,

Different word in the hebrew. This is what he is saying:
Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into
blood, (when) the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.
This would be exactly what Joel is trying to convey. This is how it
would read in the hebrew. The use of the word before is confusing.

Mark 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation,
(after satans tribulation)
the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
(same as the 6th seal)
Mark 13:25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are
in heaven shall be shaken.
(same as the 6th seal)
Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds
with great power and glory.
(same as the 6th seal!....this is exactly the events of the 6th
seal,
right from christs mouth.)
There you have it, before and after. After really means
after
and before does not mean before.
