~*A Call*~

"Oh, this sun is so great! This beach is awesome!" Cheyenne exclaimed as they lay out in the sun on the virtually deserted beach.

"Oh, yes, you got that right sister. So, ain't ya glad I talked you into coming with me?"

"Yes, that is I am until I hear the first time dad yells." Cheyenne said. Sierra laughed at her sister's joke. They enjoyed making fun of their father together. After all, what was there not to make fun of? The man was a great looking guy in his early forties but never dated. Their mother, Jianna Spencer Chase, died when the girls were three. They didn't know her well enough to really let it hit hard. That is, until teenage years. That is when they needed her the most. But they learned to deal without her. After all, they had their sister for anything they needed. "Dad needs to go out and have a life. He worries about everything too much. Maybe he should get a girlfriend!" Cheyenne exclaimed.

"Yuck, Cheyenne do you have to bring up such gross topics?" Sierra asked.

"Sierra, it is not a gross topic. Its life. Dad needs one. I know who I could set him up with!" Cheyenne's mind was reeling with ideas.

Two days later:

(Back home in KY) The phone in the living room rang. Jackie Littrell answered it. "Hello?" She breathed.

"Hi. Ms. Jackie, its Cheyenne."

"Oh, hi Cheyenne. I'm sorry, Brian isn't home yet."

"To tell the truth Ms. Jackie, I wanted to talk to you. You see, my father wanted to ask you something, but he is so shy."

"What's that honey?"

"He wanted to ask you out to supper on Friday night."

"As in a date?"

"Yes ma'am. Do you want to?" Cheyenne asked.

"Um, How could I refuse? What time will he pick me up?"

"He said for you to meet him at Shea Josephine's. At 7:00 p.m. okay?" Cheyenne asked.

"All right honey. Tell him I'll be there with bells on." Jackie said.

"Bye Ms. Jackie." They hung up the phone and Cheyenne felt as if she were about to do back handsprings.
