AUBURN, Wash. - Greater Northwest Lodge 11 members extend their condolences to Rose Ellis and her family in Aberdeen, Wash., on the loss of her husband Robert.
Our July meeting was well-attended. Gary Gorsha, vice president of Lodge 738 in Enumclaw, Wash., attended as our guest. Gary led a discussion on Slovenian genealogy and how it helps families understand their heritage and ethnic background. He has a collection of several Slovenian history books and maps of Slovenia. We found him very interesting.
We discussed our plans for the annual picnic which will be held at Lake Twelve Sunday, Aug. 13. Vicki Muņoz is planning a work party Aug. 12 beginning at 9 a.m. to install the dance floor and gazebos. Refreshments will be available at the picnic, as will klobase sandwiches. This will be a potluck event, so bring your favorite picnic food.
We extend a special invitation to Lodge 738, Lodge 371 and Slovenian Women's Union #79 members to join us. Button box players, please bring your instruments to join in the jam session.
We congratulate Helen Spires and Roy Woodbury on their July 6 marriage. We hope to see more members at our Aug. 6 meeting which will be held at the VFW Hall in Auburn.
