ENUMCLAW, Wash. - Lodge 738 will host its annual Christmas party Sunday, Dec. 10. All SNPJers in the area are invited to attend. Auburn Lodge 11 and Enumclaw SWU Lodge members will be participating. This popular event is a good way to get a start on the spirit of the holiday season. Come join in the camaraderie and merriment. As always with this party, there's no admission charge, compliments of the Lodge.
One of the popular features of this annual event is the distribution of Christmas presents to the children by Santa Claus. Parents should bring the presents for Santa to hand out. In addition, we'll enjoy a fantastic feast of potluck specialties donated by all party participants. The Lodge will provide klobase and bread. This event is BYOB; water and ice will be available. Music will be performed by the Puget Sound Button Box Group as well as other musicians.
This event will be our final activity for the year. Contact Eldon Dobnik or Mary Bratovich at (253) 833-2944 if you have any questions.
We hosted a number of cordial parties during the year. In April we held a fund-raising blind auction which proved to be a lot of fun. Members donated unmarked, wrapped items which were auctioned off. There was a mix of some good items and some low-value stuff, and a lot of laughter when the packages were unwrapped. Max Minowski does a great job auctioneering. We all look forward to the 2001 auction.
We also hosted a catered Mother's Day party. We were pleased to have Lodge member Frank Videgar join us all the way from Yakima, Wash. A very fine accordianist, he is the cousin of our good friend, Frank Vidergar from Fontana, Calif. We had a good turnout for the Slovenian picnic at Black Diamond Lake 12, and we had a great time as usual at this event sponsored by Lodge 11. In October we held an Octoberfest party.
If you have a computer connection to the Internet, check out the Lodge's web site at https://www.angelfire.com/wa2/SNPJ738. This site is available for viewing worldwide. You may be surprised to find yourself in some of the pictures. Gary Gorsha has been updating the site with pictures taken at various events, and he also lists scheduled Lodge activities and other information.
You can let your friends and family around the country and world know of this site so they can share the information. I suspect that Gary will update the site with pictures from the Christmas party.
