ENUMCLAW, Wash. - Lodge 738 enjoyed a good turnout for our Dec. 10 Christmas party. A brief meeting was held prior to the party, during which we elected officers for 2001 and disposed of general business matters.
President Gary Gorsha, Vice President Tom Zumek, Secretary/Treasurer Mary Bratovich, Recording Secretary Cathy Vogel and auditors Tony Mylnar and Larry Petrowski will serve as officers in 2001. All officers remain the same as in 2000, with the exception that Tom Zumek exchanged positions with Gary Gorsha based on Tom's request. Everyone agreed that Tom did an excellent job marshalling a full schedule of quality programs. We wish Gary equal success.
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Sylvia Manowski, an active Lodge 738 member for many years.
Everyone enjoyed the Christmas festivities. Santa took Christmas requests and handed out gifts to the children. Members enjoyed a delicious feast while the sounds of traditional tunes offered by the Puget Sound Button Box Group provided a Slovenian touch. Button accordianists Gary Dime and Ted Lunka added some dazzling dynamics as they joined in the jam session.
Although the weather threatened a storm from the north, we fortunately had no snow, even to date with the threat now past. A happy new year to all!
