AUBURN, Wash. - Lodge 11 members held their annual picnic at Lake Twelve near Black Diamond, Wash., Aug. 19. We've been hosting our picnics at this location since 1979. We enjoyed an excellent turnout, and the weather was simply perfect.
During the afternoon we observed a moment of silence in memory of Herb Marks. Herb played his accordion at our picnic last year.
We had a good time listening and dancing to the music performed by Frank Hren and the Happy Hans Group. Tommie Demchuk added a lot of sparkle to our afternoon festivities. Al Octaviano was the lucky winner in our fruit basket drawing; we hope he enjoys all the fruit and spirits.
We enjoyed visiting with the members of our Lodge 11, Lodge 738 and the Slovenian Women's Union from Enumclaw. We hope to host more functions like this in the future.
