Above is the pattern of the resurrection according to the scriptures. This table depicts the scriptural counting of the days of the week at the top of each column in Hebrew. These days are: Yom Rishon, the First Day of the week; Yom Sheni, the Second Day of the week; Yom Sh'lishi, the Third Day of the week; Yom Revii, the Fourth Day of the week; Yom Hamishi, the Fifth Day of the week; Yom Shishi, the Sixth Day of the week; Yom Shabbat, the Seventh Day of the week. Each cell in the top horizontal row is colored with black text, which represents the night period of a complete day. In the second row, the text color is blue to represent the daylight period of the appropriate day of the week. The bottom row underneath the "night period" and "daylight period" rows are the corresponding days of the scriptural Hebrew month, disregarding the Babylonian names of the months that were adopted during the exile of the House of Yehudah by Nebuchadnezzar, dating from 606 b.c.e. The first detail addressed is:

Mattityahu 12:40 "For as Yonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so shall the son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Those three days and three nights are given here as the calendar days of Aviv 15, Aviv 16, and Aviv 17, with the death and entombment of Yahshua occurring just before those three days, and his resurrection occurring just after they were completed, THE THIRD DAY of the week. There is an error being made by those who adhere to the idea that three days and three nights must equal a seventy-two hour period without regard to what the scriptures plainly and literally state. Those who preach a resurrection on Shabbat are making several simultaneous errors, compounded upon a seventy-two hour count of three days and three nights, that is neither scriptural, nor intended by scripture.

The practice of reading into the scriptures what is not intended by the original author is called eisegesis. Those who attempt to establish doctrine, should ever be on guard against this practice, which always leads to further errors compounded on top of the first error. Phrases such as would mean, could mean, and should mean, are obvious examples of eisegesis. They indicate one who is rambling according to his own thoughts and presuppositions; not one bringing forth revelation knowledge from the scriptures by the Spirit of Truth who leads and guides into all Truth. There are yet more subtle means of eisegesis that vary greatly and are not so easily detected, whereby men reason rather than see (observe) the truth revealed by the Ruach.

1st Cor. 2:12-14 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of Elohim; that we might know the things (become one with the truths, facts; Heb. devarim) that are freely given to us of Elohim (revelation knowledge), which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Ruach haKodesh (lit. in KJV, the Holy Ghost; meaning the express spirit of the person Yahshua) teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual (using an analogue method; not digital computations of numerical equivalents) But the natural man (the one who prides himself in his carnal intellect and powers of reasoning; or in his budget to buy a bigger, faster, more powerful calculator) does not receive the things of the Spirit of Elohim: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know (become one with spiritual things), because they (spiritual things) are spiritually discerned.

The following paragraph is a current posting at James Trimm's SANJ website, replete with eisegetical suppositions that build error upon error. The author of this piece, Mr. Lingle, is resolved to calculate a chronology rather than to establish eyewitness testimony from the scriptures.

Added to the data above is the provability of a Thursday crucifixion (see article by Chris Lingle - When were the True Dates of the Crucifixion and Resurrection?). Therefore, if the Rabbinic system was being used by both the Nazarenes as well as the Pharisees then a new moon disparity would have to occur with the criteria of a borderline 1st day new moon crescent (under 9 degrees) appearing over Israel at sunset between the years of 26 to 35 C.E on a Wednesday. This is more than an ample spread for the scenario seeing that the years 29 through 33 are much more preferable if any sort of historical data would be used to lock the date in. (At this point the reader may wish to look on any calendar giving an enumerated succession of the days of the week for comparison sake). If one assumes that both Nazarenes and Pharisees were keeping the end of the 14th/15th as Passover, then the criteria for a Wednesday borderline NMC could allow for a misunderstanding on the exact day of the correct new moon for the Pharisee group yielding their Passover on the day following the Nazarene Passover in the N.T. While this theory sounds strikingly plausible, this criteria is not met on any of the dates above. The years 27 and 30 have Wednesday dark moons that occur under the horizon at sunset, so there is no way that these could be mistaken for 1st days. In the year 34 a new moon crescent well over 20 degrees occurs on Wednesday, so there is no way that the Pharisee group could miss this one and take the Thursday moon for their system instead. The Apr. 8 Thurs. NMC is not only the wrong intercalation system but the dark moon on the sunset of the 7th was only 1 degree above the horizon. The years 28 and 31 both present 1st day crescents on Wednesday that seem close but are really not borderline at all (11 degrees and 12 degrees respectively). Added to the fact that the new moons for 28 and 31 really are not borderline is the fact that these dates would yield the incorrect intercalation system placing the Passover a whole month too far away from the Spring Equinox.

The above rationale is dependent upon calculation for the establishment of its author's attempted chronology, not confirmation of eyewitness testimony given in the scriptures. It is logic based, not revelatory; relies heavily upon computer programs; and is in the realm of prognostication, not sound scriptural exegesis. This type of evidence should only be introduced after the fact to corroborate the testimony of eyewitnesses, for indeed, the creation itself bears witness to the real testimony of truth. The problem with calculation is that one little error throws the whole thing off. Such errors can also result from omitting pertinent information in the original configuration database of the calculation program. The question, "Was the New Moon Crescent obscured by clouds and not witnessed by anyone," is extremely relevant to those who observe, but completely irrelevant to those who calculate the beginning of a month. None of the astronomical calculation programs that I am aware of, tell us the weather in Jerusalem on the dates under consideration between the years 26 c.e. and 34 c.e. Hence none can tell us if a given month was thirty or twenty-nine days, potentially resulting in a one-day error in the calendar in any given year in question.

The apostle Shaul stated in 2nd Corinthians 10:4 that the apostolic authority which is sent from YHWH, seeks to take every thought captive to the obedience of Messiah. What is the obedience of Messiah to which Shaul (Paul) is referring? The besorah (gospel) of Yochannon informs us that Yahshua's doctrine was given him by YHWH (Yochanan 7:16 ; and 14:24), and that he not only spoke what was commanded him to speak by YHWH (Yochanan 5:30; 7:18; 8:38, 40,and 47) but he only did what the Father YHWH commanded him to do (Yochanan 5:19, 36; 6:38; 8:29). Yahshua sums it up in Yochanan 11:31 where he states, "I and Father are Echad (One)", to which all Yahudim agree, that he meant he was of One Spirit with YHWH. Such a statement yet enrages those who practice the false religion that is Babylonian sun-worship.

Three days and three nights means just what it says, no more, and no less. It does not mean a total of seventy-two consecutive hours spread over four days, with a fraction of a day followed by three nights and two full days, and then another partial day. (See table 2.)

In fact, this errant way of counting is Roman, and not Hebrew at all. It is a holdover from the sun-worship that people claim to have left behind because it leads one to think that the Sadducees method of counting the Omer was legitimate, Elohim forbid it. They interpreted the phrase 'morrow after the sabbath' (Heb. mimacharat hashabbat) in Wayiqra (Leviticus) 23:11, to mean that the day after the weekly sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread was the beginning of the Count of the Omer, thereby fixing it annually to Sun-day. Sun-day observance is the identifying trademark of those who are yet involved in sun-worship, either wittingly or unwittingly. This practice effectively takes the whole of Christianity off the lunar calendar of the scriptures every year and puts them on a solar calendar during the most critical part of the year for the observation of time! Among this element who promoted a Shavuot that was annually fixed to Sun-day were those who officiated as cohanim in the Beit haMikdash, on the temple mount.

Yehezqel 8:15-16 Then said he unto me, "Have you seen this, Son of man? Turn you yet again, and you shall see greater abominations than these." And he brought me into the inner court of YHWH's House and, behold, at the door of the temple of YHWH, between the porch and the altar (where only those who do the ministry of the priesthood could go and also where Zechariah, the son of Berechiah was slain; see 2 Chron.24:20-22 and Matt. 23:35), about twenty-five men (leaders), with their backs toward the temple of YHWH (turned away from Him), and their faces toward the east (Babylon; also met. the spirit realm); and they worshiped the sun.

Because some assume that table 2 is the correct way to count, and that one day and one night is the same as twenty-four hours (they still employ Roman time-keeping), they believe that the first day and first night in the grave ends before the sun would set Aviv 15. This yields six partial daylight periods according to their own calculations. Four of these six are two consecutive, full daylight periods, containing two partial daylight periods each. To them, these two consecutive daylight periods fall on 5th Day - Aviv 15 and 6th Day - Aviv 16. From the beginning of the first partial daylight period, to the ending of the last partial daylight period, must be exactly seventy-two hours according to their Greco-Roman paradigm. They may be happy with this explanation, but the eyewitness testimony of the apostles of Yahshua who lived through this drama, flatly refutes it, and all other spurious reasonings of natural men. The scriptures that state Yahshua rose THE THIRD DAY, nowhere state 'partial' anything; nor do they say that a day equals twenty-four hours. This is the original presupposition of those who insist that Yahshua rose upon Shabbat, and other errors are compounded upon this error as we shall see. The error of believing wrongly about when Yahshua's resurrection from the dead took place, is a much more serious matter than the careless would ever imagine it to be.

The Third Day

(Hebrew Names and doctrinally corrected KJV) Galatians 1:6-9 "I marvel that you are so soon changed (turned away) from him that called you into the anointing of Messiah unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that would trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Messiah. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so now we say again, if any preach any other gospel unto you than that which you have received, let him be accursed!"

Rav Shaul here uses the principle of the Law of Two or Three Witnesses to establish that there is but one besorah, or gospel, of the resurrection of the dead, and that all other gospels are spurious; and those who preach them accursed. The Law of Two Witnesses is found in Bamidbar (Numbers) 30:35, Devarim (Deuteronomy) 17:6, 19:15, and requires that two or three witnesses are needed to convict someone in a case meriting the death penalty. This principle is also employed by those who interpret scripture to establish true doctrine. This is why Yahshua often said, "Awmein, and awmein, I say unto you..." Rav Shaul elsewhere uses this practice to establish his apostolic teachings (2nd Cor. 13:1-2), citing the Torah as his reason for doing so. Yahshua also did this very same thing when he gave instruction on how to deal with a sinning brother (Mattityahu 18:15-17). Rav Shaul instructed Timothy to not receive accusations against elders except that it were by the mouth of two or three witnesses (1st Tim. 5:19). This principle of two or three witnesses was used liberally by Mosheh himself in the writing of the Torah, as we shall later see.

1st Corinthians 15:1-4 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; by which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain, for I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Messiah died according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again THE THIRD DAY according to the scriptures."

To the mind that is scripturally unaware, we establish that THE THIRD DAY intended by Shaul was THE THIRD DAY of the week, and NOT the third day of any three consecutive days, as is commonly thought to be the case. True witness is given by those who observe; never by those who calculate. This cannot be stressed enough when one considers the chronology of Yahshua's passion. All such chronologies based primarily on calculation, and not eyewitness testimony, are not accurate! Again, don't trust calculated chronologies. It is not my intention to offer here a total chronology of Yahshua's passion, but only to examine such with the testimony of eye witnesses to Yahshua's death, and the record they have left for us in the Brit Chadashah. The writers of the synoptic Gospels and Yahshua leave us several statements testifying to his resurrection THE THIRD DAY, and he even gave one after it occurred. Notice that he never states on, in, or at, prior to THE THIRD DAY in the following verses. Peshat (the literalness of the scriptures) demands that we take these words at their simplest face value without reading convoluted (twisted) meaning into them.

Mattityahu 16:21 From that time forth began Yahshua to show his talmidim, how he must go to Yerushalayim, and suffer many things of the elders and head cohanim and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again THE THIRD DAY.

Mattityahu 17:22-23 And while they abode in Galilee, Yahshua said unto them, "The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and THE THIRD DAY he shall be raised."

Mattityahu 20:18-19 "Behold, we go up to Yerushalayim; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the head cohanim and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him unto death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify, and THE THIRD DAY he shall rise again."

Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, the head cohanim, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Mark 9:31 For he taught his talmidim, and said unto them, "The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and after that he is killed, he shall rise THE THIRD DAY."

Mark 10:33-34 "Behold, we go up to Yerushalayim; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the head cohanim, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him unto death, and shall deliver him unto the Gentiles: And they shall mock him, and scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and THE THIRD DAY he shall rise again."

Luke 9:22 Saying, "The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and head cohanim and scribes, and be slain, and be raised THE THIRD DAY."

Luke 18:31-33 Then he took the twelve, and said unto them, "Behold, we go up to Yerushalayim, and all things written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge and put him to death: and THE THIRD DAY he shall rise again."

Luke 24:7 Saying, "The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and THE THIRD DAY rise again."

Whether Yahshua states The Third Day, or after three days, there is no conflict with his meaning: the three days he refers to are Shabbat, Yom Rishon, and Yom Sheni (see table 1) and THE THIRD DAY is Yom Sh'lishi. This is also witnessed by Shimon Pehter when the true gospel was first preached by him to the household of Cornelius:

Acts (Devarim) 10:38-40 "How Elohim anointed Yahshua of Nazareth with the Ruach haKodesh and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed of the devil; for Elohim was with him. And we are his witnesses of all things (devarim) which he did both in the eretz Yehudah, and in Yerushalayim; whom they slew and hanged on a tree. Him Elohim raised up THE THIRD DAY, and showed him openly."

The we Pehter refers to, is the apostles, specifically he and Yochanan. Multiple eyewitnesses and the words of Yahshua himself are all in agreement with these facts (Heb. devarim, things, acts, deeds, truths, etc.).

Acts 18:14-15 And now when Shaul was obout to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, "If there were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O Jews, I should bear with you; But if it is a question of Devarim (Words; i.e. Deuteronomy) and Shemot (Names; i.e. Exodus), and of Torah (your Law), look to it youselves; for I will be no judge of such."

All the above verses have integrity with one another and the scriptures cannot be broken (Yochanan 10:35) which is another principle of correct exegesis (drawing forth from the text its intended meanings). We now note that a false gospel causes people to violate the sanctity of Shabbat through wage-earning.

1st Timothy 6:3-6 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not unto wholesome words, the words of YHWH Yahshua haMashiah, and to the teaching which is according to Sabbath-keeping; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds who suppose that gain is (earning a livelihood on) Sabbath-keeping: from such withdraw thyself. But Sabbath- keeping with contentment is great gain.
