Cody's birth story. I was a few days past my due date but since I had toxima my doctor decided to induce my labor. I went in on Febuary 18th, 1993 at 5pm to start the procedure. I was given some medication to soften my cervix, (a gell put into a diaphragm). The I was just to lay around watch TV and such till the morning. The the nurse woke me up at 6am and I took a shower, ate, and then we began. I was hooked up to a Iv and Pitosin was added. Then as each hour went by the nures turned up the doseage. By 2pm not much was going on, mild contractions and some dialation. So the Midwife decided to break my water. She got this thing that looked like a croche hook, and snagged the bag of water. Then once again turned up the meds. I began to have hard contractions and in a few minutes, there was ONE HUGE contraction that did not stop. It continued till he was born. I began to push at 4:30 or 5pm. Cody was born at 5:36pm. We did not know for a few minutes what his sex was So we had a delayed surprise! My little boy was born. 8 lbs 9 oz 20 3/4 inches long. Brown hair, and a heathy beatiful baby! He is now a blond haired blued eyed 6 yr old. Happy and healthy.
