My Homemade Archery Tackle

Welcome to my online photo album. Here are some of my bows, arrows, and equipment that I've made.

Yew Bow and Douglas Fir Arrows

This is my yew longbow, made from a stave that Jim Fetrow gave me. Rawhide backed, 68" nock to nock, horn nocks and arrow plate, pulls about 60 pounds at my 28" draw. Arrows are Douglas fir, and natural barred wild turkey feathers. I got the rawhide, horn, and the fir shafts from Ted Fry at Raptor Archery.

Handle Close-up

This is a close-up of the handle of my longbow, showing the inlaid horn arrowplate. The fletches were burned on a homemade feather burner.

Homemade Tackle

This picture is of my favorite backquiver, glove, and armguard...all made by me. These arrows are fletched with feathers hand cut and ground, of wild turkey. Crown is red Fiebing's dye, and crested on a homemade crester made from an old rock tumbler.
