You talkin' to me??

Mr. Machine Gun Man : Laguna-sama

Ow! Leg cramp! This page is dedicated to the handsome ex-soldier turned journalist of FF8. Poor Laguna doesn't get as much coverage as the other guys of FF8, but here all praises go to him. Especially with all the questions left open to think about...but we'll talk about them, ne?

"Love, Friendship, and Courage....You've got to have heart!

Laguna Loire is a very cheerful and enthusiastic man. He's very passionate about doing what's right and is someone people look to for inspiration and hope. Kind of silly and a bit shy, Laguna finds himself in the strangest situations; whether it's lost in the Galbadian jungle or leading a revolution. Laguna has lived an eventful life full of adventure, love, and sadness. Yet, he keeps moving forward, looking for a bright future.

Laguna-sama's stats:
birthday: January 3rd
age: 27 (in the flashbacks)
weapon: machine gun limit: Desperado Attack
occupation: Galbadian soldier, journalist, president of Esthar

Laguna-sama's Buddies:

Kiros Seagill, the fashionable 'Katal' wielder. His limit Break is "Blood Pain." He's like Laguna's best friend. Very loyal and caring.

Ward Zabac uses the Harpoon, his limit break, "Massive Anchor". Even after he lost his voice, Ward still was able to express his strong belief in Laguna.

Laguna-sama's Love:
Let's see, first there was the beautiful Julia Heartilly, a pianist from the Galbadia Hotel. She sang that song: "Eyes on Me". However, it was not to be for them. Laguna went off to war, never to return. Julia, believing he was dead, went off and married General Caraway. Five years later, she died in a car accident.

A touching moment! However, Laguna found his way to Winhill, a small town in Centra. There, a woman named Raine, took care of his wounds. Raine Leonhart was a flower shop keeper and had an adopted daughter, named Ellone. The three of them got along as a cute little family, until Ellone was kidnapped. I'm assuming that before he left, Laguna proposed to her and they were married.

Yet, it wasn't to last forever either. After rescuing Ellone, Laguna was forced to stay in Esthar as the president. He wasn't able to return to his wife, who had died in Winhill. How very sad!

Spoiler
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but there is to some degree evidence that Laguna IS Squall's papa. Yes, right before you go off to fight the nasties over at Lunatic Pandora, Laguna's posse mention to Squall - "You look very much like your mother" & "Good thing you don't look like your father". Laguna even says: "When you come back, there's something we gotta talk about. You might not like what I'm going to tell you, but I have to..." Also note, that Squall was placed in the Orphanage too, and always referred to Ellone as "Nee-chan". Coincidence???

(10/17/00) More reasons on why Squall is definitely Laguna's son. Moomba's identify people by the scent of their blood. When Squall was in the Gaballian prison, they started calling, "Laguna! Laguna!" because they recognized Laguna's blood. DNA BABY!! (How Moombas could talk is another story...)Discovery was made when re-playing disc two over. Heehee! I'll never get enough of this game!
