Megumi comes from a famous family of doctors who were caught in the middle the Aizu war. Her family was killed and she was taken by a yakusa and forced to make deadly opium. Fortunately, the Kenshin-gumi rescued her and she has become an important asset to their team.
Also called the "Medicine cabinet", Megumi is always ready to take care of the Kenshingumi's wounds after a battle and for free! She has somewhat of a sly attitude and knows how to coerce her way into getting things. (Sano refers to her as the "Fox Woman")She is pretty cool and calm when it comes to drastic situations.
On the other hand, she is always teasing Kaoru and arguing with Sanosuke. And she flirts with her "Ken-san" A LOT, so much it's not appropiate for kids and Kaoru is exploding with jealousy. Although she constantly is throwing herself at Kenshin, I kinda get the feeling that deep down she really likes Sanosuke. Those two have very good chemistry. Her trademark is her laugh: "Hohohohoho!" and the fox ears popping from her head.
