"Closing Time"

On evening at the Akebeko restaurant...

"Ano, Tae-san!" Tsubame cries, rushing over in apron, her tray clasped in her hands, "It's already that time..."

"Sou ne!" Tae says with a nod, "Well, let's make preparations then!"

Cue the music!!

Tae starts going booth to booth, clearing after her recent guests, while singing:

" Closing time
Open all the door and let you into the world
Closing time
Turn all of the lights on over every boy and every girl "
She stops at one booth where two customers remaining, getting slightly drunk. She glares up and down at Sanosuke and his friend, Katsu.
" Closing time
One last call for alcohol so finish your sake or beer
Closing time
You don't have to go home but you can't stay here "
She drops them their bill then goes to move onto the next booth. The ex-Seikihoutai members gaze after her, drooling :
" I know who I want to take me home

Take home... "
Meanwhile, Tsubame is cheerfully brooming down the aisle. She happens upon a booth where Kaoru is moping, a pile of dishes in front of her (she had an argument with Kenshin ;_;).

Tsubame tries to get Kaoru on her feet and towards the door :

" Closing time
Time for you to go out to the places you will be from
Closing time
This room won't be open till your students or your rurouni has come "
A little peeved, Tae is shoving Katsu and Sanosuke out the door, since they have no money to pay the bill :
" So gather up your jackets
Move it to the exits
I hope you have found a friend... "
Tsubame waves after all of them :
" Closing time
Every new begining comes from some other begining's end "
She and Tae pause at the door, sighing. Both with someone in mind.
" I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
take me home "
Tae closes the front door and locks it, turning to Tsubame. "Shall we finish things up and call it a day?"

"H-Hai!"

As the musical interlude goes on, the two go into the kitchen, finalizing the cleaning and handling the dishes. After all that work, Tsubame gathers her things and gets ready to go home

"Ano... jaa ne, Tae-san!"

"Nn! Ki o tsukite, Tsubame-chan!"

Tsubame walks out into the street. She stops to see a young samurai waiting for her. "Eto..." Yahiko stammers, rubbing his head, "Thought you'd like some company??"

Tsubame blushes, going to take his hand :

" I know who I want to take me home

Meanwhile, Tae is turning for the stairs for her room upstairs. She pauses to hear a noise outside. "Hmmm??? Nan ya??" She goes open the back door.
" I know who I want to take me home

Tae is surpised to see who it is, her face turning red. "... Katsu-han?"

Katsu shyly smiles, holding a bouquet of flowers. "Tae-san..."

" Closing time
