Rurouni Kenshin - 2nd OVA news

According to "Animedia" magazine, Sept 2001 volume, Rurouni Kenshin is having another original video animation series. It is scheduled for release in Japan on December 19th, 2001. All of the characters will have their original seiyuu voices from the TV anime series; Suyokaze Mayo as Kenshin, Fujitaki Miki as Kaoru, Ueda Yuji as Sanosuke, etc.

Here are the scans of the two page article from "Animedia":

By the looks of it, it will be done by the same artists as the first OVA series. I'm still not sure what the plot is about, but I saw a commercial on it and Kenshin & Kaoru kissed (kya!). The commerical & trailer are available at: Latest Anime

The official Sony site on the 2nd Ova: http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/Movie/TV/Kenshin. It has cast info & character designs (in japanese).

review of Part 1 of Seisouhen (6/2/2)

Well, I watched the ova. yayayay... not really. Ok, here's the rundown. I don't like the anime style, the moody feel, or the interpretation of the story. They make Kaoru totally out of character, doing weird stuff like apologizing all the time and being extra nice, and saying weird stuff like "Just when I thought I had him to myself..." That is NOT the Kaoru Watsuki-sensei created. I was clearly disappointed.

Aside from things that are just so wrong, there is a stronger love story between K&K than ever before shown in the anime or movie. I mean, they actually kiss. If you want to see this kind of mushy stuff go ahead. I'll turn my manga's instead.

I have part 2 but I haven't bothered to watch it yet. My friend told me she loved it so I'll be sure to do something about it. Laters all.
