I thought it was a dream

I wish Goku-san were here. It's Valentine's Day and I'm going to bed early and alone. Chi-Chi thought as she combed her long black hair. Goku had gone to train Ubuu six months ago, leaving a tearful Chi-Chi behind. He probably doesn't even know it's Valentine's Day. Sometimes I wonder if he cares at all. . . He's always leaving. . . Maybe a nice hot bath will help me feel better.

Chi-Chi let out a sigh as she leaned back against the tub. Her troubling thoughts seemed to have flooded out and into the lukewarm water. I always knew Goku-san loved fighting and adventures; but I was hoping he would save some of that love for me. I know he loves me, but is it enough? Does he ever think about me when he's away? I was going to dress up tonight, hoping Goku-san would surprise me.

When the temperature of the water dropped, Chi-Chi had no choice but to come out. She dried herself, and afterwards, reached for her pajamas. Instead of putting them on, she stared at them; lost in thought. It's Valentine's Day, my nightie would go to waste if I didn't wear it. . . She laughed faintly. Maybe I'll have a sweet dream.

She entered her bedroom and pulled several pins out of her hair. The thick silky mane tumbled down her back in a fluid motion. She took a brush and proceeded to untangle the tiny knots in her hair. While brushing, a small blurry movement reflected in the mirror, caught her eye. She turned around and saw nothing. I must be getting sleepy. Chi-Chi put on white lace panties and slipped into a shape flattering satin nightie. It had thin straps which criss-crossed down her back and stopped at the base of her spine, partially baring her backside. The front was low cut enough to expose heavy cleavage from her chest. The length of the dress was quite short; it ended just below her behind, showing off her toned, slender legs.

She walked cautiously to her bed, feeling a presence in the room. She could've sworn she saw something move. She uttered a small sound prior to her collapse.

Chi-Chi's body was sprawled across a bed of red rose petals. She woke up, feeling slightly lightheaded. Perhaps it was because of the fragrance of the flowers; it was intoxicating. She noticed a trail of faded pink flower petals. Curious of where they led to, she followed them. Finally, after many turns and twists, the trail brought her to an enormous garden, which contained beautiful exotic flowers. She blinked, not believing the beauty that surrounded her. The numerous flowers bordered a marble white circular table set for two. Delicious food was placed on them, making her mouth water.

She suddenly felt a warm sensation washing over her body. She closed her eyes, leaned back and whispered Goku-san. She didn't bother to open her eyes; it had to be Goku. Only his touch could cause her skin to tingle and break out into goosebumps. Goku wrapped his arms around her waist and inhaled her scent. He sniffed the skin at the side of her neck and exhaled slowly. One of her straps had conveniently fallen down, allowing him to nibble her bare shoulder before sliding the strap back on her shoulder. Chi-Chi let out a small murmur; he had been gone for a long time. Six months felt like six years to her. This has to be a dream.

" Did it hurt when I pressed that pressure point on your neck? " He asked apologetically. Chi-Chi shook her head.

" No, I just remember falling down. "

" Then let's eat Chi-Chi! I'm hungry! " Goku said enthusiastically. Chi-Chi smiled and nodded as she walked over to her chair. Maybe this isn't a dream. I wouldn't dream of him eating. Throughout dinner neither spoke a word. She finally broke the silence.

" Goku-san, why are we here? I thought you wouldn't come back to me until you finished training that child. "

Goku stopped stuffing his face and looked at Chi-Chi. He had sauce splashed around his mouth and bits of food stuck to his chin.

" Because it's Valentine's Day. Didn't you see the present I got you? " He said, pointing to her neck. She touched the area he was pointing at and felt a smooth angular pendant. She instantly realized it was a necklace with a heart pendant.

" I got money from Mr. Satan and went with Ubuu's mother to buy it. She said women like diamonds and white gold. "

Chi-Chi was too shocked to speak. She gave him a shy smile and continued eating. After dinner Goku surprised her once again. He got up and took her hand. Light music began to play in the background.

If there are no words, no way to speak; I would still hear you. If there were no tears, no way to feel; I would still feel you. All of my life I've been waiting for all you give to me, You've opened my eyes and showed me how to love unselfishly... I've dreamed of this a thousand times before. . . But in my dreams I couldn't love you more. I will give you my heart until the end of time You're all I need, my love, my valentine.... -- Martina McBride " My Valentine "

Chi-Chi couldn't tear her gaze away from him as they slow danced. She was afraid if she closed her eyes she would miss a moment. Goku had wrapped his arms comfortingly around her waist, guiding her as they moved.

" Goku-san. " Her voice was barely a whisper. " Aishteru. Please don't leave me. " Tears started to flow down her cheeks. She didn't bother to wipe them away, fearing if she let go, Goku would be out of her reach. Goku looked at his wife with repentance.

" Sumanu Chi-Chi, I have to train for future fights. "

Chi-Chi bit her bottom lip, closed her eyes and hung her head in painful comprehension. She expected him to say something like that. In her heart there was a flicker of hope that made her say what she said; she had to try to convince Goku to stay with her; she needed him.

Goku kissed her path of tears. His hands came up to hold her face as he came forward and kissed her deeply, slowly; taking possession of her mouth. The kisses became more passionate and fervent. A moan escaped their lips. Goku reluctantly pulled away. He picked her up and carried her to a room.

A white bed was in the center of the room. He set her down on it. The bed was fluffy and pleasant. He removed his blue gi and white hakama. He strolled over to Chi-Chi and relieved her of her garments. They spent the rest of the night happily enjoying and savoring the time they had together. The last thing Chi-Chi heard was:

" Happy Valentine's Day Chi-Chi. "
Chi-Chi shielded her eyes from the sun's bright rays. She yawned and turned to her side. She patted the empty space and concluded what had happened was a dream; Goku wasn't next to her. I should get up. I have work to do She lazily climbed out of bed and gasped; she was completely naked. She immediately touched her neck and felt the necklace. She held the pendant in her hand and smiled.

" Happy Valentine's Day Goku-san. " It wasn't a dream after all.
