The Seattle based Bon Marche department store had expanded into Everett in 1944 by purchasing the Runbaugh-McLain store. A parking garage, connected to the store by a skybridge, was added in the 1960s. In 1977, The Bon opened a store at Everett Mall. The downtown store remained open for a few years but eventually closed. If I remember correctly, the downtown store only sold home furnishings for the last few years that it operated as a Bon Marche.
