The Astoria-Megler Bridge was opened to traffic in 1966 and has always been part of US 101. The bridge replaced a ferry. The ferry landing on the Washington side had been at Megler, about a mile east of the Washington end of the bridge. This photograph was taken in January 2002 with Oregon in the foreground.
