State Route 9 starts at Jct SR 522 north of Woodinville and heads north via Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Arlington, Sedro-Woolley, Deming, Nooksack, and Sumas to the Canadian Border. SR 9 is 98.08 miles long. SR 9 Spur connects SR 9 in downtown Sumas with truck customs a block east of the general traffic border station.
Before 1964, SR 9 was part of SSH 1A.
