State Route 35

SR 35 was added as a state highway corridor by the 1997 state legislative session. The corridor links SR 14 in the Bingen-White Salmon area with Hood River Oregon. The bill creating SR 35 allows for a new bridge across the Columbia River at this site to be part of SR 35. No money has been appropriated by Washington or Oregon for such a bridge, however. The present Hood River Bridge, built in 1926 and owned by the Port of Hood River, is not allowed to be taken over by the state according to the Revised Code of Washington. OR 35 terminates near the south end of the present bridge at Jct I-84.
