Secondary State Highway 1Q

SSH 1Q was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route originally began at Jct PSH 1 (US 99) just east of Toledo and headed in an easterly and southerly direction, ending at Jct SSH 1R (now SR 504) a few miles NE of Toutle. Although US 99 was moved from its route through Toledo to the present route of I-5 west of Toledo in the mid 1950s, the western terminus of SSH 1Q remained near Toledo until 1963. In 1963, SSH 1Q was extended into Toledo via the former US 99 Cowlitz River bridge, then west to I-5 Exit 60 via former SSH 1P. When the current state highway numbering system was first posted in January 1964, SSH 1Q became signed as SR 505.
