SSH 3P was added to the state highway system in 1953. This route began at Jct PSH 3 (US 395) just west of the Kettle Falls Bridge and headed westerly, ending at Jct SSH 4A (now SR 21) east of Republic. SSH 4A became part of SR 30 when the state highway system was renumbered.
