SSH 5C was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct PSH 2 (then US 10, now SR 900) in Downtown Renton and headed southerly via Benson Hill, ending at Jct SSH 5A (now SR-516) on the east side of Kent. SSH 5C is now SR-515.
