Secondary State Highway 5H

SSH 5H was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct PSH 5 (now SR 7) at the Roy Wye in Spanaway and headed southwesterly via Roy, McKenna, Yelm, and Rainier, ending at Jct PSH 1 (US 99) in Tenino. US 99 was moved to the present route of I-5 between Chehalis and Tumwater in the mid 1950s, bypassing Tenino a few miles to the west. The description of SSH 5 in state law was not changed until 1959, however. The revised description placed the SW terminus of SSH 5H at Jct SSH 1N in Tenino. Today, SSH 5H is part of SR 507.
