SSH 15D was added to the state highway system in 1937. This route began at Jct SSH 15C at Lake Wenatchee State Park and headed in a northwesterly direction to Telma. The wording of the route description in state law was changed slightly in 1963 but the route remained the same. When the current state highway numbering system was first posted in January 1964, SSH 15D became part of SR 207.
