The codes should be entered into the 'Password' box, which can be accessed by selecting 'Options' followed by 'Password'. First let's get the stuff you probably already know out of the way:

To get the bonus track, Monolithic Studios, enter SHOTME.

Put in any code and press start to enter it.
When the game has confirmed the code (with 'Secret Car') press 'Password' again.
Enter POWRUP and bingo, whatever car you chose, it'll do at least 200mph.

Remarks: This is an enormous dinosaur. And the force with which (s)he boots cars out of the way is only surpassed by the force with which (s)he hits the ground moments later. Oddly, this seems to be a T.Rex on wheels - maybe even very large inline skates. Oh, and remember to try the horn on this one especially, and hold it down - fantastic! TREXME
