  Magical Realism Podcast

“MAGICAL REALISM IS…”

Our podcasting effort is looking for a few good contributions!

In order to help the "World At Large" develop a better understanding of literary magical realism, we’re running the first in an ongoing series of MRPod competitions titled: “Magical Realism is…”

Send us your best definition of literary magical realism, starting with “Magical Realism is…,” in 50 words or less. Since this will be an ongoing call for submissions, the deadline will always fall on the last day of the month.

You don't need to record it; sending your definition to us embedded in the text of an email is just dandy. The best definitions will be aired by permission on future broadcasts of MRPod.

Go on, you know you want to! No entry fee required, but this contest is for members only. Folks who aren’t members but who want to enter the contest simply need to join MRCentral first.

GENERAL PODCAST SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

I'm looking for short works of magical realist prose (under 2500 words) and poetry to produce as spoken-word content for MRPod.

The current theme is open.

For nonfiction, any sort of interesting journalism or essays about magical realism works.

For fiction, it's all about story, so send me something spellbinding!

Poems need to be distinct in content from fantasy, surrealism or New Age.

Sound advice: read your work out loud before you send it to me. How it sounds as spoken-word content will determine greatly whether I can use your work.

Any questions?
