The Native Plants of Waltzing Waters

The picture above is the Crabtree Rivulet...too small to be a river ..to large to be just a creek...
Down near the water we have a rather vulnerable tree-Eucalyptus viminalis..locally known as 'white gum'...
Along this riparian strip are Acacia dealbata -Silver wattle and an understorey including Leptospermum lanigerum-Wooly Teatree, Acacia melanoxylon- Blackwood, Callistemon pallidus-Lemon Bottlebrush, Bursaria spinosa-Prickly box, Pittosporum bicolor- Cheesewood and Pomaderris apetala- Dogwood.

Due to this fact and the growth of other native flora in the near vicinity we are fencing the area along our water boundary off from live stock and so on.
This area will be retaken from the introduced weeds and rubbish of earlier residents of the property
and will over a period of at least ten years be protected from further degradation and returned to native habitation

We would like to thank Greening Australia and particularly Andy who has given us his valuable time and knowledge...

So now the work starts!!!

If you ever feel energetic we have a massive blackberry problem to deal with and will need all our resources and some of yours..(if you are willing) to even start...

Who knows we may even get the neighbours interested and the flow on can only be a benefit to all involved if the riverside is improved!
