Reluctance - Many people feel awkward about knocking on the door of a
private residence. And they will continue to feel awkward until they
are properly trained and motivated.
Accountability
- If proper materials, forms, record-keeping, and
follow-up to door-to-door canvassing do not take place, naturally the
accountability will be lost. However, this can be done right.
Not Enough Volunteers
- There is no question that effective
door-to-door takes many people. There are proven, specific ways to obtain
these volunteers (and going door-to-door itself is one of them.)
Lost Information
- One of the reasons for centralized
door-to-door registration canvassing
- on
specific dates at specific times in specific areas - is to keep things
together.
