| Overview |
Weimaraners are friendly, playful, and highly energetic. They can also be stubborn and require an experienced owner willing to work with the dog in early and ongoing obedience classes.
They are friendly with children, although they may be too energetic for toddlers, and may be reserved or very friendly to strangers, depending on their genetics, training, and socialization.
They get along with other dogs but may chase cats if not raised with them. The weimaraner, a study in grace, speed, stamina, energy, and endurance, is used as a pointer and retriever by bird hunters.

| Appearance |
The coat is short, smooth, and sleek. Coat color is shades of mouse gray to silver gray, sometimes with a small white mark on the chest. The unusually colored eyes are shades of light amber, gray, or blue-gray.
Puppies are born with dark stripes running down the length of their bodies. The stripes disappear at three weeks of age.

Weimaraners need a quick brushing once a week. They must be given long, vigorous workouts every day or they will become unmanageable and destructive. |
