Own part of Pre-War Cadillac history. I know, Annie's not a show car but there were only 5,913 of this model (6119 Sedan) originally, so there can't be that many left! Especially that run and aren't completely rusted out. Annie was recently nominated and awarded 3rd place in her class at the Pacific NW Cadillac LaSalle Club Annual Pinic 2008!
Annie has cool suicide doors and she drives, runs, and stops. Rebuilt 346ci flathead engine, V8. The engine is very clean (not oily or dirty) and repainted correctly. Lots of power! New rebuilt fuel pump installed. Shifts on the column, three speed transmission. Nice original type wide white wall bias-ply tires. Three of 4 hubcaps on car, all like new (repros). Working headlights. Red tailights lens nice (but not working).
Interior disassembled currently. Five boxes of parts. Most all interior and exterior parts rechromed. Seats intact and solid, original Mohair covered with fabric and leather (like) cover. Reconditioned steering wheel, nice, and just installed restored center piece. Original Mohair headliner has a couple of small tears but still tight. Windlace needs replacing. Dash was repainted black. Also, just installed original sill plates and original wood jack cover in trunk. Newly installed inside window frames. (This car is getting better everyweek).
While the engine was being rebuilt it was not covered for about a year. (Very sad). It then lived in a garage again and has Drizair dehumidifier gizmos keeping it dry.
Car was purchased from second owner and restored but then sat for nearly 20 years. I have a photo album and coffee can full of receipts from third owner. Annie is a Washington state native, I've been told she is a local car.
Body was disassembled and painted. Top and hood are fading and has some (minor) surface rust. Some minor paint only scrapes on drivers front fender. Undercarriage solid and not rusty. Trunk opens and closes nicely, and the lid stays up fine. Both bumpers were rechromed. Front grills have minor pitting. Hood Goddess truly amazing, only a few pits. Most trim in good condition. Has side boards which are starting to need redoing.
Fun to drive because you sit fairly high up, like a pick up and shifting gears gives you that sports car feel. Turns heads everywhere she goes. I put her in a Car Show and she got lots of lookers. In fact, one woman wanted to do a nude photo shoot with the car!
207 inches long and weighs only 3770lbs., wheelbase of 126". Most of the weight is in the engine and transmission. Will she fit in your garage?
