The Alaskan Malamute is known for it's ability to pull heavy freight. The
Alaskan Malamute should be heavy boned and powerfully built .They are
designed for strength and endurance. Some of the founders of the breed from the
past have stated, "The True Alaskan Malamutes were much larger than the
standard Malamutes of today" This has always been our belief. Over the years we
have tried to preserve the larger look and structure of the breed. The Alaskan
Malamute with proper training, can make a wonderful pet. |

At Cascade Kennel our focus, has been to maintain the original intent of the Alaskan Malamute as an animal structured and bred for pulling heavy freight. If the structure is not solid from the ground up, pulling 3,000lb loads would be all but impossible. In the IWPA (International Weight Pull Association)1997-1998 season alone, Cascade Kennel and offspring directly from Cascade Kennel won 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze in their respective regions across the United States.

Besides being bred for structure and strength, Cascade is
known for their larger than average size, excellent
temperaments, and stunning beauty. The largest
Malamute we have produced was weighed and
Documented on many official Scales at 190lbs (Big Mac).
Big Mac became a four time heavyweight National
Champion in the IWPA over all breeds.
In Canada-(1998) Champion Cascade’s Sabre Bear
trutted his stuff in the show ring for the Canadians!!!
Sabre Bear finished his championship with a few best of
breeds under his belt! Cascade Kennel is a fairly small,
well-maintained kennel located in the heart of the scenic
Columbia River Gorge. We will remain at a level where we
can give all our dogs and puppies the time and
attention
they need and deserve. We have been breeding, working,
and showing our dogs for nineteen years. We have big
dogs, but we do not just breed big to big just to
produce
big -- we are very selective about our breeding, and
stock,
keeping only what will bring you the buyer the best
big
dogs money can buy. | |

The honest lean average weight of our full grown females
range from 100 to 135lbs- The honest average
weight
range for our full grown male is 115 to 150 lbs.
Occasionally they will get bigger than our average, but
very seldom
smaller. | |
|
When we received our first
Malamute puppy nineteen
years ago, we fell in love
with the breed. This love
still drives us today- We love our dogs
and the many friends we
have made over the years.

many wonderful
