Text: Died, Friday morning, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Records, Mrs. Schreffler, in the 80th year of her age, after an illness of about three weeks. She had been an invalid for many years but was taken to her bed about three weeks ago from which she never recovered. She was converted when sixteen years of age. She was loved by many of the young people. The Funeral was held at the Shiloh chuch, of which she was a member, Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. Helmic, her pastor. She was laid to rest in the New Hope cemetery. She leaves one son and two daughters to mourn her loss, only one of whom was with her at the time of her death. Mrs. Record has the sympathy of the whole community in her said bereavement.

(from Roger Cramer)
---------------------------------
The Schreffler family of eastern Pennsylvania claims as its founder in America Heinrich Schreffler, who settled in the borough of Reading, Berks county, at an early date. His will, on record in Will Book A, page 83, in the Berks county courthouse, was made April 25, 1783, he "being old and weak in body," and was probated Sept. 6, 1784. Apparently he died in the summer of 1784. He made his mark on the document, and his sons Christian and Godfriedt (as the name was spelled in the will) were appointed executors. Among the items was one to the effect that George "shall have my fine stocking weaver loom, with all belongings." The son Conrad died before his father, and his son, also named Conrad, obtained his father's share of the inheritance.
