I won the race in getting this car. It was advertised as a free car to the first caller. all it (was suposed) to need was a head gasket and a turbo.
When i picked it up the front two cossie wheels were stolen from it and it had no carpet either. i towed it home and proceeded to do the repairs. Only to find out it had a cracked head. Later i noticed the rust in the trunk was so bad that when i removed the spare, there was no floor, it was rusted away. the spare was resting on top of the gas tank. there were also rust spots that went through the floor on both sides of the front seats.
At this point i decided to strip it. I took everything out of the interiorthe LEATHER interior, (i mean everything) inludinge the wire harness taped to the firewall. then i kept the remaining two cossie whells, the trans, new clutch, rear hatch, spoiler, hood. Like i said i took everything.
Now that the car was down to nothing. i had it hauled away :(. With a complete gray interior set inside my garage i went out looking for another xr with grey insides. now a white 86 sits in the driveway :)
