First off, the fight song you're hearing is Oregon State's, not Oregon's in case you're unfamiliar with the Pac-10. We're also not sure which "Civil War" (the rival game between Oregon/Oregon St) this pic came from but we just know it's of the Beavers scoring on what is most certainly a porous Duck's defense. To start, we Husky Mellos (and the entire HMB) don't have anything against the OMB (Oregon Marching Band) and especially nothing against their mellos. They're all class-act folks and sound great. If you've ever taken a trip to Eugene, Oregon however for a UO game, then you probably know that their fans are pretty passionate about their Ducks. The UW/UO rivalry is one which compares to Michigan-Ohio State, Florida-Florida State, LSU-Auburn, UCLA-USC to give you an idea. That's all fine and dandy but as anyone in our band can attest to, having dog feces thrown at you and more obscenities screamed at you than you can remember (I swear they just make words up down there) doesn't make you become the biggest fan. Gotta admire their passion but answer me this...what gets crap out of a uniform? Definitely not club soda, that's for sure. Anyway, this page is all in good fun and isn't meant to offend anyone....well, maybe some.
