A PRAYER FOR A FRIEND

I looked at the sky 
and said a prayer for you today. 
For you are special
and I often think of you.


I asked God 
to hand you a torch 
to light your path when you feel 
you can’t see your way 
so you don’t stumble or fall.


I asked God
to give you a hug of comfort
when you are feeling sad 
and wipe your tears dry 
when crying don’t stop.


I asked God
to keep you company 
in all your days 
so you will not be alone
when I am not there 
to be with you. 



I asked God
to bless our friendship 
and to remind you 
that even though we are far apart 
you are always in my heart.
