ABC's OF SALVATION!
ADMIT:
The first step toward receiving the salvation of Jesus is to admit you have
sinned. Every person sins but you are the only one who can own up to your
sins. You must confess to God that you have sinned and that you know you
have done wrong.
These Bible verses will help you understand how to admit your sins or why
you should admit them are:
Matthew 10:32-33: "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also
acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before
men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven."
Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of
God."
Romans 10:9: "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved."
BELIEVE:
The second step toward receiving the salvation of Jesus is to believe that
He is the Son of God. Jesus came to earth so He could live among the people,
teach them about God, and show them God's love. Then He died on the cross so
the sins of all people could be forgiven. Each person must have faith in who
Jesus said He was. Only you can accept the love He has for you. When you ask
Him to be your Savior, He forgives all your sins.
These Bible verses will help you understand what the Bible says about
believing Jesus:
Mark 1:15: "(Jesus said), 'The kingdom of God is near. Repent and
believe
the good news!'
John 3:15: "That everyone who believes in him may have eternal
life."
John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Romans 10:10: "For it is with your heart you believe and are justified,
and
it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will
forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
COMMIT:
The third step toward receiving the salvation of Jesus is to give your word
to God that you will obey Him. When you give Him this promise, it means that
you will let Him show you the right things to do, the things you should say,
and even the things you should think. This means that you will try to live
as Jesus would want you to live.
These Bible verses will help you understand how God can help you obey Him:
Psalm 19:14: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be
pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."
Psalm 37:5a: "Commit your way to the Lord."
Psalm 141:3: "Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the
door of
my lips."
Proverbs 16:3: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will
succeed."
Acts 5:29: "Peter and the other apostles replied: 'We must obey God
rather
than men!'"
