Whisper
Speak the language of the trees
And hear the secrets they relieve.
Tales of ancient, long lost ages,
And timeless stories found on pages.
Oh, the many secrets you will hear
When the wind does whisper in your ear.
Of lasting love and love forgotten,
Of things that never happened often,
Of days when sunlight never came,
And everything always stays the same.
Where a single petal of a flower
Can make time stop; and every hour
A leaf breaks off and hits the ground;
Silent, but the trembling sound
Of thunder echos through the skies,
And lightning flashes in your eyes.
Children hiding under beds,
And adults listen in their heads
As beasts call them from far away,
And nighttime ends the eternal day.
So you hide your face from nameless fear,
While the wind does whisper in your ear.
