At Yule the Child of Light is born.  This is the time of the waxing year, a time where power increases, fertility increses and the Earth wakes up for its deep slumber.  This is a time to stay up all night, then welcome in the Sun (son) at dawn by lighting a candle.  Tonight gifts are exchanged, a Yule tree is decorated and the Yule log is burned.  There are cheers and goodwill and the courage that we will survive the winter.  The final stores of the winter are used up and the knowledge that the Great Mother will always provide.

Now is the time to make your dreams into reality, as the power of the Sun and Earth are waxing.  Lots of feast will happen tonight on casseroles, heavy spiced wines, poppies and anything that you feel appropiate for warming in this wonderful winter.

Ways to celebrate Yule can be by staying up all night, then lighting some green, red, white, or, especially gold candles at the first sign of the rising Sun (son).  You can light a fire and have a Yule log decorated with green and red ribbons, then put the log into the fire.  Make sure you save whatever pieces are left behind keep and place them under your bed to bring happiness and luck into your home.  Feast on all your favourite winter foods and have a good time with friends!!  If you have witchy friends, exchange gifts and party together through the night!!
