Mathematics

Lying on the tangent of a circle that’s too round,
Working out the route of a ship that’s run aground.
Quadratic equations that are far too long,
Areas and angles that are probably wrong.

Protractors on the ready for our trigonometry,
Transformations are too hard for normal kids like you or me.
Loci and constructions, and polygons as well,
Rotating compound matrices are as difficult as hell.

Pythagoras’ theorem and someone else’s law,
Who on earth they were, is all we want to know.
Prisms and pyramids, and shapes of every size,
Everyone in school must have heard our screams and cries.

Where’s the point in Math's?
