Where Are You?
If you’re there won’t you show me the light?
Help me understand what’s wrong and what’s right.
Can’t you see I want to share in your love?
But how can I see what’s in heaven above?
In my mind your words are misunderstood,
Why must I know you to be righteous and good?
My friends will try to help to show me the way,
But I must find the answers in my own way.
I know they’re there to help me once I’ve found God,
But right now, I think I’m looking too hard.
I look around and see the night and the day.
Who says you’re not here in your special way?
You could be here as I see each new-born child,
Or in the ocean when white horses run wild.
But then I look and see a small child, who’s crying,
I know each day so many people are dying.
But ’cause it’s us who let them die like they do,
I ask myself if the tears are from you.
