Well today I had a bit of a shock! - I realised yesterday that my pill-injection was due about 2 weeks ago so I immediatly made an appointment to get another one. Gill and Cat put me on a guilt trip and made me promise to get a preggers test done before I got my injection today (It was negative - no suprise really) but when I went to the nurse's, I went to get the injection and she looked worried. She proceded to tell me that there are no Depo injections in the whole country and that there should be a letter on the way to me. They only found out on Monday - there's a "packaging problem" with the external company they use (ie. not their fault). So... I have walked (well, hobbled - I'll explain that in a minute) out of the doc's, with a hole in my left arm, a rubber thing in my arm and a big bandage with a steri strip (rather than stitches) and a rather numb feeling all down it!
I'd like to say a thanks to Tori for her Many Moods Award:
"Hi Amber,
Thanks for stopping in and applying for a My Many Moods award. I can see from your website that you truly are a computer geek =D and proud of it! So here is your award. I will add you to my winners list asap!"

Oh yes... Hobbling... I nearly forgot. Well, on Tuesday we were on strike with UNISON regarding the measly 2.3% pay offer that Further Education Administrative staff were offered nationally.
"60,000 further education college staff - cleaners, technicians, support staff and lecturers - joined together to strike for fair pay.
It was the first ever national strike in FE colleges.
Over 250 colleges and four million students were affected. Many colleges were closed for the day."
It's the first time I've been involved in a strike and I hope that it shows that we're serious about not being treated different. Goverment staff and Health Service staff (in the same kind of jobs) got offered 6% or more and it's just not fair. The Fire Service are threatening to go on strike if they don't get 40% 40%!!! They get paid tonnes more than the Ambulance service anyway!
ANYWAY... I was walking through the centre of Newcastle, (to the protest location) where I fell over - god only knows over what! - and totally bruised my knee - I did the whole 'spread eagle' effect on the floor and my knee swelled up and is pretty shades of blue, purple and yellow! - HOW embarrased can you get!!!? :o)
