First week back at work, *sigh* but after a well deserved fortnight off. (Well, I was in last Thursday and Friday, but didn't fancy staying late to update! - sorry!)
I had a great Christmas and New Year with my family. I thought, after having moved out of the parental home and into my own, that the first thing to wake me up on Christmas morning would be the cats wanting to open their tin of tuna from Santa, but nope, 8am, the phone ran, and a little voice pipped up from yon end of Consett!
"Happy Christmas Big Sis!"
My sister of nearly 21 years called me first thing in the morning to ask if Santa had been! I told her that he'd been to leave some gifts for my kitty cats, but he'd told me that he thought I was too old this year, having a house of my own, etc. I said I'd see her later and got up to feed my kitty's their extra special tuna-ry treat!
Had a nice Christmas lunch at my parent's house and went home to collapse in the late evening.
New Year was also quiet for me, I didn't fancy going out and getting wrecked, so I went to see Dawn and celebrated New Year with "When Harry met Sally" and a bottle of Dooleys between my sister, mother and I (Dad was working nightshift (ambulance man) and only got extra pay after midgnight coz New Year's Eve isn't a public holiday - even if that's when the most people need emergency help! - and firemen think they're hard done by these days!!!) *sigh* The world's a b*tch sometimes!
I'd like to thank all my friends for helping to make the 'festive season' fun and light hearted and to send out a little "I miss you" to all those that I don't get to see/hear from as often as I'd like to!
