Just Thinking
Mood:  not sure
Well, it's about 10:39 pm and I'm still awake. I'm waiting for one of the Sisters that I live with to come home from working over at the school. Usually she's not this late, but I think she had a lot to do.

Anyways, I've got alot to think about. As the date that the vocation director mentioned is quickly coming for a possible welcoming ceremony, I'm a little nervous. I really haven't heard anything about it yet. I think it may fall through. But anyways, dates don't really matter to me. I'm happy at this time and in this place where I am at the moment...the present moment. I am not living in the past nor in the future. I'm just living in the NOW. I'm really excited about the possibility of becoming a candidate in this community. They really are an awesome group of women.

The Sister I was waiting for just came in and went up to her bedroom. It's probably been a loooooong day for her. Me? I ate too much chocolate and should be in bed at the moment but I'm not sleepy yet. EEK! I need to get up for morning prayer at 6:30 though. I'll be getting to sleep sometime soon, hopefully.

One of the Sisters that I live with hatched duck eggs and has three little ducklings that think she's their momma. It's really cute to see them react to her voice. I wonder if they are named yet. This particular Sister has been hatching ducklings for 25 or so years and has written a book on it as well. That's pretty cool information. I'd never guessed it. Guess I learn something new every day.

Tomorrow is my day to cook. I'm thinking about going to the store and buying a rotissere (spelling?) chicken. I'm not the greatest cook because I never learned. Oh well. The Sisters are nice enough to eat what I cook.

Well, gotta go.

Peace out!

Hello World!
Mood:  lyrical
Well, this is not really official yet (it hasn't been run by the council yet)...but, the vocation director told me that I could become a candidate and have a welcoming ceremony as early as the 13th of May. That's a feast of Saint Julie Billiart's. I love Saint Julie. It would be awesome if I could have my welcoming ceremony then, but it's also Mothers' Day and I'm sure that at least one of the Sisters that I live with cannot attend if it happens that day.

This is just an idea that the vocation director had. I don't know if it will be executed the way she explained or not, but I'm really excited!!!

Randomness
Mood:  not sure
I am the sonnet, never quickly thrilled;
Not prone to overstated gushing praise
Nor yet to seething rants and anger, filled
With overstretched opinions to rephrase;
But on the other hand, not fond of fools,
And thus, not fond of people, on the whole;
And holding to the sound and useful rules,
Not those that seek unjustified control.
I'm balanced, measured, sensible (at least,
I think I am, and usually I'm right);
And when more ostentatious types have ceased,
I'm still around, and doing, still, alright.
In short, I'm calm and rational and stable -
Or, well, I am, as much as I am able.
What Poetry Form Are You?
I just finished a day of working at the flea market for Prince of Peace School (the school where the Sisters that I live with work). I'm really tired. I'll probably post more some other time. Just thought I'd do a random post tonight.

Car Blues
Mood:  blue
My car stalled several times when I was trying to drive it back from the retreat that I was on this past weekend. The car's only 4 months old...it's got less than 2000 miles on it. It's not supposed to have problems this early in its life. I'm a little angry about that.

I was borrowing the car from one of the Sisters I live with, though I've got to make a few runs into Ohio for various things so I didn't want to use that car for that, so I got a rental. I'm renting a red Chevy Cobalt...I don't like red cars...but I guess it's better than no car.
The people working on my car THINK it's the altenator (or however it's spelled), but they're not for sure. The said they couldn't duplicate my car's problem...so they're basically guessing at it. EEK! Have I bought a lemon? I spent more than half my savings on that car. It better not be a lemon.

Am I too attached to the car? Perhaps I am. I don't know...

Well, I'm on break at work and better get back. Take care and God bless!

What a Weekend!
Mood:  d'oh
I spent the weekend on retreat and loved it. One of the Sisters that I live with was one of the directors and it was awesome. It focused on the relationship between Martha and Mary in the bible and how we each are Marthas and Marys. We need to find a balance between the two.

My car broke down after the retreat. That was not fun at all. Though, I got to spend a little more time with the Provincial director because of it. She gave me a pencil and paper when I needed to write down some phone numbers and then she volunteered to show me where they were going to tow my car. I spent a little time talking with her during the whole ordeal and it was an awesome experience. Not that my car breaking down was a good thing, but perhaps God wanted me there for a reason and wanted this meeting to happen. God does work in strange ways...earlier on the retreat my desk lamp kept turning itself off and on so we unplugged it...then it was my ceiling light that turned itself off...then it was my car breaking down. This is a brand new car. I've only had it for 4 months...

Anyways, the provincial explained to me about my next step and then about the steps after that. Seems like there's a plan...

Well, take care and God bless you all.

Meeting my Parents and Odds and Ends
Mood:  accident prone
Hello everyone!

Today the Sisters that I live with are going to go to my parents' house. We're going to go to mass with my dad and then we're going to have pizza at the house. It should be fun, especially if we play dominoes or Apples to Apples. I'm really looking forward to it!

Yesterday we played dominoes, and I was in second place at the table that I played at. It was great fun. I'm a little clumsy though as one of my dominoes fell into the cup of root beer that I had sitting in my lap. Tee hee....whoops! There was a bunch of the Sisters here last night to play...including both of our vocation directors.

Anyways, I finally got the two paintings that I was working on completed. Both are paintings of sunflowers. One I gave to my boss, and the other I plan to give to the provincial superior. I may or may not be able to do that today, but I'd like to. I could always leave it with the Sister at the front desk at the Heights if Sr Marla isn't around.

Well, I'll close for now and see how things go. Take care everyone who reads this.

Peace!

Lots Happening!!!
Mood:  a-ok
Wow! There's been alot going on the past few days! First, over the weekend, the Sisters of Notre Dame had a celebration to celebrate one hundred years of their academy (Notre Dame Academy here in Covington) being in existence. We had lunch and then mass. Lots of the Sisters were there, including most of the Sisters from the Heights. The bishop also came and said mass. During his homily, he talked about getting more vocations.

After mass, there was cookies and lemonaide. The provincial superior invited me to meet the bishop and introduced me as one of the people discerning with the community. The bishop quoted Shakespere (spelling?) and told me to "Get thee to the nunnery" LOL!

Then on Tuesday night, I couldn't go to mass because there was a standoff a few houses down from where I'm currently living. It started around 3:00 pm and ended at around 9:30 pm. Supposedly there was a man there who had stolen an arsenal of guns and was in his house. The police called in the SWAT team and this was all happening right in front of our house. It was interesting to watch, though a couple of the Sisters went outside across the street to talk with the neighbors who were outside their houses. I was too chicken to go all of the way over there (it was only across the street though).

I also invited the provincial superior (her name is Sr Marla) over for dinner sometime when I'm cooking.

Anyways, that's what's been up with me.

Peace!

Just Thinkin'
This is another entry from work. I've got a few minutes to write for a little bit, so we'll see what comes of it.

This weekend was really cool. On Friday in the evening, my friend Renee came over and we went to see our friend Sr Joanne because Saturday was her birthday. We took her a hyacinth. It was a pretty pinkish-white one. It smelled wonderful. I was allergic to it and it gave me a headache, but the plant was still really pretty. We also got one for my local community at St John's. The same color and it, too, smells awesome. My car smells like hyacinths as well because we used it to transport the plants.

We then went to the Florence mall after eating really quickly at a Waffle House. At the mall, I bought a t-shirt that had Alice in Wonderland on it for about 5 bucks. It was a great deal! Those shirts usually go for around 20 bucks each.

Then on Saturday I went skating with my friend Mindy. That was also really fun.

On Sunday I went out to eat and then to mass at Mother of God church with Sr Suzanne. I had a blast!

Just Chillin'
Mood:  chillin'
It's Saturday! The Sisters that I live with are all at Province Day at the Heights for discussion and I'm home alone with the dog. I'm not with the Sisters because what they are discussing doesn't pertain to me at the moment so I didn't have to be there.

I've been busy so far today, just taking a little bit of a break to do some things online. I did some shopping earlier for groceries and also did a little cleaning.

I've also did some working with clay and may post some pictures of that later. The clock on the church tower is now ringing 12 noon and I think around 2:00 I'll drop by my parents' house and attend mass with my dad around 5pm. The dog is barking at the bells which ring out the Angelus at this time every day. I've come to get used to it and I rather like it.

My first week with my new work schedule has been really great so far. I really like getting off earlier...perhaps now I can take a day for cooking.

Peace!

Parties!
Mood:  party time!
This past Sunday was my friend's first vow ceremony. This is the first profession of vows that I've seen in this community that I'm discerning with and I thought it was an awesome thing!

I went up to Chardon with some of the other Sisters from down here (in Covington)on Saturday. Chardon's near Cleveland in case you're wondering...it's about a 5-6 hour trip for us.

My friend did a liturgical dance before her profession and what I got to see of it was awesome.

There was also another friend of mine up there to see the profession. This was the second time that I'd got to see this particular friend, so I was happy!

The day after we came back, the other Sisters that I live with and I went to a surprise birthday party for another Sister. It was also an awesome experience.
